A PeopleSoft patch or fix is (as the name implies) a patch or fix that gets applied to a version of the system that needs it.
A good approach to PeopleSoft patching is:
- Centralized team to pull down bundle release notes as they become available and distribute to business users.
- Centralized PS Admin team to run change assistant and work to keep DEMO up to date.
- DEMO should be on the same patch release as your PRD but assume you will keep moving the patches forward.
- Schedule mini funded projects quarterly to compare, retrofit, regression test and migrate the bundles for that quarterly release.
The key is to keep a good set of regression test cases that will cover the main functionality and ensure nothing that was working is now broken.
