Description
Responsible for the implementation and management of the PeopleSoft PeopleTools and its server infrastructure that supports production and business work at CNS. Will work with all levels of CNS employees to implement, maintain, and support the most efficient, cost effective set of solutions for CNS in the underlying PeopleSoft PeopleTools architecture. Will work in a team environment to coordinate, implement, and support changes to the environment using technical tools and processes to maintain consistency, availability, and stability in performance and function.

Keep pace with technical advancements within computing infrastructure and supporting software. Incorporate new technologies as appropriate.

Determines specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility and maintenance.

Manage the MS Windows software configurations of the PeopleSoft/PeopleTools servers for the most efficient operation in a secure manner to meet DOE/NNSA & DISA STIG requirements.

When scheduled, provide non-prime time support of the PeopleSoft/PeopleTools environment as required.

Manage enterprise computing environments, including applicable enterprise software and hardware configurations utilizing enterprise tools and best practice methods.

Hardens servers for security purposes.

Troubleshoots complex server and PeopleSoft/PeopleTools issues and works with other technical and functional personnel to complete problem resolution.

Performs system updates, following an approved change control process.

Develops and/or implements system monitoring tools and strategies for monitoring accountable systems and ensures optimum system availability.

When necessary, lead efforts to define functional requirements; conduct detailed analysis of alternative solutions and make/buy options; design complex system enhancements and interfaces; develop prototype systems to refine design and requirements; document design and detailed specifications; develop data models and related data structures; plan for configuration control, testing, security, and quality assurance.

When required, serve as technical staff advisor for complex projects, tasks, or functions.

Perform system test and validations; verify system expectations and requirements; ensure system operation; perform enhancements and improvements.

Ensure that all appropriate implementation procedures are developed and/or followed in a routine basis.

Ensure that all appropriate operating procedures, contingency plans, and security policies are developed and/or followed on a routine basis.

Minimum Job Requirements
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely-related field: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of 10 or more years of relevant, progressive education and work experience may be considered.

Required experience working with one or more of the technologies listed that the team supports.

Knowledge of Windows Server 2012 r2, installation, configuration, security Knowledge of Windows Server 2016, installation, configuration, security

Active Directory – Group policy administration, editing, and creation
-
PeopleSoft/PeopleTools (8.51, 8.53, 8.54, 8.58) – Installation, configuration, patching, upgrading, security, and administration.
Preferred Job Requirements
-
At least 2 years’ experience in current primary and supporting technology implementations in use by CNS is preferred.

Supporting more than one of the technologies is preferred.

Knowledge of Elasticsearch technology, installation, configuration and management is desired
-
Prior experience at DOE and Y12 site is highly desirable.

Be able to install each version of PeopleTools, or have a general understanding of the installation process of the older versions of PeopleTools.

Practical knowledge of 8.56 or greater.

Understand de-coupling and what is required to de-couple a PeopleSoft/PeopleTools environment.

Ability to create, maintain, tune, and customize application server and process scheduler domains.

PIA – ability to create, maintain, tune, and customize PIA domains for the latest versions of PeopleTools.
-
Ability to deploy an entire PeopleSoft environment via the new DPK methodology, as well as in depth familiarity with customizations, domain creation, administration, and patching methods.

Peoplesoft Update Manager(PUM) – Installation, Configuration and Updates
-
Weblogic (versions 11g to 12c) – Installation, configuration, patching, upgrading, administration.

Be able to manage a Weblogic environment separate from the PeopleSoft PeopleTools DPK installation.

Familiarity with SSL and how it applies to PeopleTools.

Certificate creation and implementation.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
