SUMMARY

The Senior Payroll Business Analyst enables change within the PeopleSoft Payroll technology portfolio by defining needs and recommending solutions that deliver value with a goal of leveraging technology to enable business requirements.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


•       Engage with internal customers to understand business strategies and objectives and forces that impact the business


•       Understand and/or assess the capabilities of PeopleSoft Payroll system functionality within assigned groups and provide guidance to optimize technology through process redesign, system configuration and enhancements. Research and recommend a range of options to meet business needs, facilitate decision-making, guide implementation, testing and go-live.

  •      Educate business partners on PeopleSoft Payroll technology governance process to support investments in the right efforts at the right time.

  •      Act as liaison between internal customers and IT, including performing technology effort readiness assessments, requirements documentation and supporting the development of associated business cases. Maintain strong relationships with assigned groups through effective proactive communication and reliable delivery.

  •       Manage governance process for technology efforts, by capturing and/or reviewing readiness assessment information and recommending, revising, communicating, and ensuring alignment on enhancement priority levels. Execute or delegate and guide enhancement initiatives.

  •       Maintain the inventory of current and future PeopleSoft Payroll technology initiatives and associated technology initiative dashboard and use them to lead the regular status review meetings with HRCS and IT.

  •       Support the HRCS technology portfolio management activities, including the annual planning process and on-going leadership review and track the connections between the initiatives and the progression of PeopleSoft Payroll capabilities.

  •       Monitor and share external trends best practices in HR, Payroll & Timekeeping technology, and service delivery.

  •      Responsible for the systems/technologies that drive payroll and timekeeping operations (e.g. PeopleSoft Payroll, Kronos) including upgrades, enhancements, and reporting.

  •      Creates detailed functional and technical design documents, test plans and implementation documents

    MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS


    •       Bachelor’s degree in a science or related field and 5-7 years’ experience in an HR Business Analysis role


    •       Prior experience acting as the liaison between HR and IT


    •       Working knowledge across a variety of HR systems including PeopleSoft HRMS as well as other cloud-based applications including system assessment, selection, implementation, upgrades, and enhancements


    •       Demonstrated ability to gather and succinctly communicate business/technical info in simple terms.  Identify and persuasively propose a range of potential solutions and influence decision-making


    •       Ability to identify and thoroughly analyze all inputs, outputs, and implications of a proposed solution to discover risks and propose mitigation strategies or configuration and/or process solutions


    •       Experience managing medium to large HCM technology projects and leading business process re-engineering efforts of light to medium complexity


    •       Detail oriented and ability to look at the big picture to identify and prioritize critical elements of a problem and its solution.  Exception communication and collaboration skills


    •       Ability to solve complex problems using analytical frameworks and act as a change leader.  Training in lean manufacturing or six sigma methodologies a plus.

  •      Collaborates in a team environment and independently with suppliers, business partners, and technology teams on projects, support activities, application development and standardization

  •      Leads special projects and continuous improvement efforts. Identifies areas where standardization of process is possible and creates efficiencies through process or technological improvements.

  •      Create complex reports and queries based on PeopleSoft payroll and HR data

  •      Performs other related duties as assigned.

  •      May travel with over-night stays to off-site locations as needed.
