Job Description: *THIS POSITION WILL ALLOW CONSULTANT TO WORK REMOTELY, HOWEVER, THEY MUST BE RELIABLY AVAILABLE TO COME ONSITE AS NEEDED BY THEIR MANAGER (AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE).

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

As part of the HR Operation and Analytics team, the Business Intelligence developer will collect, compile, and analyze People (HR) data, metrics, and statistics, and apply this data to make recommendations related to the business (ie. recruitment, retention, attrition, training, performance management, forecasting, diversity& inclusion, and legal compliance). The incumbent will empower the People function to integrate data and insights into their daily work and decision-making and work cross-functionally using data to solve business problems.

The mission of the HR Operation and Analytics People team is to leverage workforce data to enable and empower HR and business leaders to make data-driven decisions that facilitate better business outcomes and also provide enhanced employee experience.

We are seeking a Business Intelligence developer to assist the HR Data Science team on the generation and delivery of analyses and insights on workforce data.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop PeopleSoft query data pipelines to integrate into Power BI and Oracle Analytics Cloud applications.
  • Work with the HR leadership team and other stakeholders to assess requirements for insights into workforce data • Perform end-to-end data analysis starting from hypothesis formation, investigation, data discovery, to data wrangling, in-depth analysis, and build data visualizations and reporting solutions • Strong domain knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM data (Core HR, TAM, Benefits, ELM, Portal and EPM) • Support a multitude of HR and company initiatives around diversity and inclusion, organization composition, retention/attrition, flight risk score card, hiring/recruitment, talent and performance, compensation, and more • Apply quantitative skills, data science techniques and research methodologies to enrich understanding and/or improve prediction of employee motivation and behaviors • Actively partner with other People Analytics practice areas such as Reporting and Data Strategy and participate in the ongoing development of the business intelligence and data warehousing activities • Work on ad hoc reports, research and analyses that could involve gathering data from variety of sources and domains and weave a compelling story and present insights to senior management • Stage data for ETL process • Independent project management skills with ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous projects • Ability to explain data, deliverables, and problems to both technical and non-technical audiences • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data to identify key trends.
  • Clear communication to proactively provide updates on project statuses, raise/escalate issues/challenges as they arise, and the ability to lead projects and initiatives

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Design, build and support Oracle DBS using ERwin •TOAD and SQL+ development tools •Work closely with applications developers on new development of ColdFusion/Oracle systems •Expert in building Stored Procedures, DB Packages, Triggers and Views •Provide additional technical assistance with custom development and support activities as directed by the designated MTA Project Manager. This includes knowledge transfer in the areas of Oracle DBA, Oracle SQL and PL-SQL programming and performance monitoring •Assist MTA staff with learning how to develop and implement Oracle SQL and Oracle SP

CRITICAL KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • The consultant must be proficient and have hands-on experience with Oracle DB release 9i or higher (5+ years experience); •Must be proficient and have hands-on experience with ERwin development environment (3+ years experience); •Must be proficient and have hands-on experience with MS Power BI (3+ years experience); •Must be proficient and have hands-on experience with Oracle Analytics Cloud (3+ years experience); •Must be proficient and have hands-on experience in managing and analyzing structured and unstructured data using SQL, R, and/or Python; dashboard development and data visualizations using tools •Must be proficient and have hands-on experience with Oracle P/L SQL (Oracle 8i, or preferable 9i) with 3+ years experience; •Must be experienced with TOAD (Tool for Oracle Application Development) (3+ years experience)
