INTRODUCTION

Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise Recruiting Solutions 8.9 release is the fourth and most significant release for Recruiting Solutions since its initial launch in late 2000.
Effort has been invested in both technical and functional product enhancements. These changes are primarily driven by customer request, with additional feedback
coming from domain experts.

There are five key themes for the 8.9 release of Recruiting Solutions:

•New Architecture and Packaging
•Enhanced Candidate Experience
•Enhanced Usability
•Enhanced Integration
•Additional Core Features

NEW ARCHITECTURE AND PACKAGING

As part of the 8.9 release, major changes are being made to the data model and componentizing products as well as merging and enhancing functionality—all leading to cleaner design and a much more efficient development and upgrade process as PeopleSoft Enterprise continues to enhance the product suite.

Merging Recruit Workforce with eRecruit Manager Desktop A key initiative for 8.9 is to simplify the product structure and begin to decouple the recruiting products from core HR. By merging the functionality from Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise Recruit Workforce into Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise eRecruit Manager Desktop, customers will notice that duplicate tables are eliminated, the business process is streamlined, and a better environment is created for the recruiter.

Furthermore, by removing the shared tables from Core HR and placing them in PeopleSoft Enterprise eRecruit Manager Desktop, all recruiting actions can be managed from specific recruiting components. This allows the ability to leverage the services-oriented architecture to transfer content to and from Core HR.

This new architecture will make it easier to test and A key initiative for 8.9 is to simplify the product structure and begin to decouple the recruiting products from core HR.
