On July 14, 1997–PeopleSoft announced the general availability of a wide range of new global versions of its financial, human resources and supply chain management application suites.

These global applications offered multiple languages and functionality geared to numerous countries in a single version, making them particularly suited to businesses that operate internationally.

On a multi language implementation, business units of the same company in different geographical regions see the application screens in their local language.
