Description

SUMMARY Work with a team of IT professionals in support of the District's PeopleSoft ERP Human Capital Management (HCM) and Finance and Supply Chain Management (FSCM) applications. Primary responsibilities include troubleshooting delivered functionality; developing and documenting new functionality to meet the District's business requirements; and testing software upgrades.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Analyze District business processes and requirements in response to requests for reports, new application functionality, or enhancements to existing application functionality within the ERP applications. Recommend, build, test, document and implement new or enhanced functionality to meet the requirements. Analysis and development work may include collaborating with IT peers, employees at all levels within the District, external vendors, businesses, and government agencies. Utilize decision modeling and data modeling tools to document their work.

Responsible for integrating the District?s ERP applications with other non-ERP applications. Integration work may include using development tools external to the ERP system.

Utilize knowledge of the ERP applications and tools to anticipate and resolve emergency situations that may impact the District's ERP applications and/or integrations with other non-ERP applications.

SENIOR LEVEL DUTIES

Serve as technical lead for new ERP-related projects. Project duties include design planning, assigning development tasks, coordinating development efforts and managing/tracking development issues.

Evaluate and recommend new software applications and/or changes to business processes in order to ensure that the District obtains maximum value from their ERP system.

Mentor and counsel peers in their development/analysis efforts and regularly advise users at all levels of the organization regarding the use of the District's ERP system.

JUNIOR LEVEL DUTIES

Serve on project teams as a technical resource and provide production support.

Evaluate and recommend new software applications and/or changes to business processes in order to ensure that the District obtains maximum value from their ERP system.

EXPERIENCE
N-05: Junior-level status requires 1-2 years' experience developing and supporting ERP systems, or college degree in related field of study. Preferred experience or course work with web technologies, HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript, APIs, and related frameworks.
N-06: Senior-level status requires 5-7 years' experience developing and supporting ERP systems, including a minimum of two years' experience developing and supporting ERP applications.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS None required.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT Strong oral and written communication skills are required. Interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills are essential as is the ability to stay current with changes in technology. This position requires software programming ability with proficiency in multiple computer languages and system design. Knowledge of and experience using personal computers, desktop productivity tools and operating systems is required. Experience supporting complex software applications and working with relational database systems is preferred.

DECISION MAKING Requires the timely application of technical abilities and knowledge of District procedures and processes. Deviations or errors could result in data loss, delays in time-sensitive business processes, outside audits/investigations, and incorrect presentation of District information.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS Daily contact with classified staff within/outside department to resolve routine issues. Weekly contact with professional staff within/outside department to negotiate controversial matters. Monthly contact with school support team to maintain relationships and with local government to verify information needs. Monthly/annual contact with advisory committees to negotiate controversial matters. Annual contact with administrative leadership team to maintain relationships and with Colorado Department of Education to coordinate data requirements.

SPAN OF CONTROL This job has no supervisory responsibilities; however, this position assists the Director or Manager in the interview process and screening of applicants.

EDUCATIONAL DELIVERY Support the schools and students by supporting the HCM and Financial systems. Ensure security of data, integrity of data, and the ability to recover data. The majority of time is not spent on the school site.

COMPLEXITY OF WORK Work is assigned by the Manager, Development. Work is primarily directed by the needs of the customers within the District and the District's technology goals. Requires independent judgment and thinking, interpretation of facts, application of technical knowledge, and analysis of the impact a situation/decision has on the District. Must exercise accuracy and alertness with attention to detail and logical thinking at all times.
