Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Data Analyst (Payroll-PeopleSoft HCM).
In this role, the successful candidate in the Senior Data Analyst should possess strong skills in financial analysis and systems, particularly strong experience with HCM PeopleSoft/ERP Systems. The Sr. Data Analyst will play a lead role in supporting the implementation of enterprise systems optimization and business intelligence initiatives with a specialized focus on PeopleSoft HCM integrations and processes; HR and salary data analytics. The incumbent must be familiar with the general ledger and can identify opportunities for process improvement through automation, systems, and reporting. This role also serves as a delegate on behalf of the Supervisor to MCIT, HR, and Departmental Administrators for financial issues related to HCM processes or other cross-functional projects. In addition to project based responsibilities, the Sr. Data Analyst will be the lead analyst for day-to-day operations of the PeopleSoft HCM processes managed by the team. The Sr. Data Analyst must have at least two years professional experience thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic and deadline-driven environment where s/he is actively engaged in multiple and simultaneous projects. The Senior Data Analyst role is a multi-faceted position primarily responsible for identifying and rectifying inefficiencies within the business processes. The Sr. Data Analyst must be effective in handling multiple tasks and completing projects in a timely manner. The incumbent will also be called upon to train other cross team members as well as external users. Solid experience with project documentation, gathering business requirements, and data analysis is required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as subject matter expert/module delegate for PeopleSoft HCM Commitment Accounting including system upgrades or implementation of new features/modules
- Performs other tasks as required
- Provide coverage for team members during vacancies
- Participate in cross-training initiatives
- Perform on-going or ad-hoc reporting and analytical projects
- Training users on different PeopleSoft HCM payroll distribution processes and reports internally within Finance and externally to Departments
- Project management in regards to process documentation and improvements, developing work plans and providing status updates to management
- Develop and maintain business process documentation for Data Management Financials operations as well as training documents
- Develop and present recommendations for business solutions through research and analysis of data and business process and implement when appropriate
- Support management in testing of system processes or implementation of new business processes related to PeopleSoft HCM Commitment Accounting
- PeopleSoft functional issue resolution - including management of payroll interfaces, data integration, data extracts/reporting requests, and developing payroll analyses for management
- Responsible for the various reconciliations which includes the validation of the data integrity between the subsystems
- Lead analyst supporting day-to-day operations related to payroll distribution processes in PeopleSoft HCM including the journal generation of the weekly, biweekly, monthly, and retro distribution payrolls
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree with a major in a business subject (e.g. accounting, finance, and economics) or information systems/technology and at least three years of related work experience. A graduate in business or public administration may be substituted for the bachelor's degree requirement and only one year of the related experience. Other minimum qualifications include: excellent oral and written communication skills, expert level Excel skills and intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Knowledge and minimum of 3 years work experience with HCM (Payroll/Commitment Accounting) is required and knowledge of PeopleSoft FSCM (General Ledger) would be a plus. Project management certification is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
The incumbent is expected to conduct him/herself in a professional manner. The incumbent should possess qualities of timeliness, respect and customer service. Familiarity with financial reporting, audits, and year end close processing, system implementations/optimizations, Training experience is preferred.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $63,935.04 - $106,557.88 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
