Description
The Office of Budget and Finance has an opening for a PeopleSoft Administrator. This position will be responsible for the installation, configuration, testing, support, and capacity planning of the PeopleSoft Internet Architecture (PIA) as well as Point-of-sales (iNovah) system with some assistance. This includes all servers and all other components supporting the applications. We are seeking an individual with working or theoretical knowledge of network, storage, switches, firewalls, IT security, Linux servers and NT servers.
Candidates must have a right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by an employer.
Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at the Hennepin County Government Center in downtown Minneapolis, 300 South 6th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55487 and remote as job duties require. Work hours will typically be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.

At this time, employees may be eligible to receive an additional cash merit of up to $1,978.93 that can be earned annually based on performance.
In this position, you will:
- Assist with creating and maintaining PeopleSoft servers by creating, administering, patching and upgrading multiple instances of the PIA:
- Build, configure, debug, and support PeopleSoft applications.
- Troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve technical problems in the PIA to meet Service Level Agreements (SLA).
- Debug and support Query, COBOL, Integration Broker, and Application Engine.
- Work in multiple versions of PeopleTools and PeopleSoft.
- Work with information technology (IT) infrastructure team members to build and deliver services in a stable and secure multi-instance environment.
- Administer and implement new integration technologies for PeopleSoft environments.
- Assist and maintain the Point-of-Sales (POS) Server system:
- Build, configure, troubleshoot various issues with the POS (iNovah) system.
- Assist to maintain optimal system performance, including systematic evaluation of component performance and resolution of performance issues involving vendors, as needed, along with capacity planning and load balancing.
- Participate to develop policies and procedures to ensure business continuity requirements are met and necessary system failover and disaster recovery capabilities are tested and functional.
Need to have:
- One of the following:
- Six or more years of information technology experience.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, management information systems (MIS), data engineering, business intelligence, data analytics, or a related IT field and two or more years of information technology experience.
- Associate/vocational/technical degree in computer science, MIS, or a related IT field and four or more years of information technology experience.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, management information systems (MIS), data engineering, business intelligence, data analytics, or a related IT field and two or more years of information technology experience.
Nice to have:
- Two years or more of PeopleSoft system administration or any ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system administration experience or four years or more of any system/server administration experience.
- Knowledge of:
- Any type of cloud concept, tools and features.
- Any ERP system, operating systems, data communication systems, networks, database management systems, and capacity planning.
- Server Administration, architecture and related capabilities.
- Any type of automation of infrastructure activities to build, monitor and patching.
- Any type of external/public facing application or infrastructure.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, communicate, execute, and implement technology projects while working with cross functional project teams.
