Description

The Payroll Tax Analyst will be responsible for the administration of payroll taxes, tax audits, system maintenance, and general tax law research. In addition, this role will also have the responsibility to assist the team to ensure accuracy and efficiency of the payroll data and processes.

Job Responsibilities:

o Taxes
 Providing accurate and timely US and Canada tax returns via ADP
 Address issues in partnership with ADP
 Ensuring compliance with internal controls responsibilities of all tax review and table maintenance processes.
 Understand new taxes coming out and the impact and the changes that need to be made and completing the testing that needs to be done.
 Setting up new states for withholding
 Year end process; perform tax adjustments and PeopleSoft/ADP year end steps and procedures for prepping and processing W-2s/T-4s.
o Report/Audits
 Develop and run queries on scheduled basis to ensure database integrity and accuracy of databases.
 Research identified irregularities on audit reports, recommends necessary corrections, and monitors that the corrections are made.
 Develops and runs standard and complex queries to support business user’s decision-making and organizes them in a format for ease of review and use.
 Work with in external/internal audit to provide controls, documentation, and data.
o Troubleshooting
 Serves as first point of contact for problems/issues as it relates to PeopleSoft and Kronos. Performs research and analysis to determine the root cause of problems and issue to determine the best overall solution. Work in conjunction with HRIS and IT to resolve issues.
 Work with requestors to identify trends as it applies to required changes/modifications within the system.
o Projects: work in conjunction with HRIS, IT and the customer(s) to plan, design, test, document procedures and deliver.
o Back-up for processing weekly and semi-monthly payrolls
o Assist in updating and maintaining standard operation procedures
