Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Payroll Systems Manager-PeopleSoft.

In this role, the successful candidate as the Payroll Systems Manager-PeopleSoft is the lead for functional PeopleSoft HCM setup, updates, and testing and responsible for advanced PeopleSoft HCM payroll related setup. This position works closely with IT to develop enhancements from inception, through testing, and into production. This includes all areas of the Foundation and Product Related tables as well as knowledge of tables related to the running of payroll. He/She is responsible for the creation of advance queries and reports to assist the department and areas outside of Payroll as needed. In addition, a strong knowledge of Kronos tables and configuration is required. He/she is responsible for the review and critical analysis of current procedures and is expected to find creative solutions to improve and enhance productivity as they relate to the People Soft HCM.

Job Responsibilities:

* Lead PS HCM functional and technical activities including business process configuration, security, calculated/custom fields, and report/query writing.
* Serve as an advanced subject matter expert within People Soft HCM Payroll Module
* Partner with Payroll and Benefits to provide input into new processes, prioritize projects/enhancements, map business processes, implement creative and effective solutions that will shape the way NYU Langone operates now and into the future.
* Work with HRIS, Payroll and Benefits teams to implement and recommend best practices to ensure optimal utilization of PS HCM including configurations, business processes, data management, security architecture, and reporting.
* Lead PS HCM functional and technical activities including business process configuration, security, calculated/custom fields, and report/query writing.
* Leverage project management and change management.
* Partnership with IT and cross functional partners for integration requirements, data integrity and testing.
* Partner with the UKG team to ensure data is complete, accurate and appropriately mapped for reports, dashboards, and downstream reporting systems.
* Provide mentoring, coaching and support for payroll team members
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues and defects with exceptional customer service. Implement corrective action; Create change control requests to drive changes and enhancements. Attend change control meetings to keep abreast of ongoing interdepartmental issues. Meet with other departments as necessary to resolve issues.
* Actively participate in design, planning, implementation and support of business process configuration, security, and administration.
* Continually increase personal knowledge and maintain individual development through training and research.
* Create/Modify PS HCM reports and/or dashboards based on stakeholder requirements.
* Controls and updates PeopleSoft table configuration for Foundation and Product Related tables. Identify proper include/exclude tables for benefits and taxes. Works with team members to ensure proper testing and documentation of updates. Communicate changes to appropriate individuals.
* Develops and maintains accurate, appropriate payroll system procedure documentation. Identify areas where procedure documentation is needed and take corrective action -
* Direct liaison with the IT team to implement updates to PeopleSoft, control testing and document changes. Work with IT to review PeopleSoft updates and the impact on the payroll process. Establish test scenarios and criteria to ensure successful updates and validate the integrity of the system. Review test results of all parties to ensure accuracy. Document changes made as a result of the updates. Communicate changes to the team by updating or creating departmental policies and procedures.
* Assist the department by creating advanced queries, which enhance processes and improves efficiencies. Identify needs of the department by meeting with team members to understand what queries would enhance their ability to perform their jobs. Create ad hoc or canned queries for ongoing reporting. Schedule periodic queries as requested for consistent reporting for both inter and intra departmental needs.

Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:

Efficiently organizes and manages tasks/projects. Assists in fostering a partnership between Payroll and its customers to improve customer relations, service and process. Communicates clearly and concisely with customers in a professional and timely manner. Demonstrates creative thinking when seeking alternative solutions to process challenges and issues. Respects and maintains confidentiality of all information within NYUHC.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree Required, and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience in Healthcare environment. Skilled at working within a team oriented, collaborative environment. Must possess the ability to resolve complex problems, utilize Excel and meet established deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field

5+ years functional and technical HRIS/Payroll design, configuration, and administration experience

3+ years specifically with PS HCM, 1 full life cycle Payroll implementation (preferred).

General knowledge of Payroll functional areas and workflows
