Adecco Professional Finance & Insurance is partnering with an organization in search of a Payroll Specialist in Edison, NJ.
Responsibilities for the Payroll Specialist include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for North American Payroll process in PeopleSoft.
  • Processing of payroll (on PeopleSoft) & complete check & register production
  • Support PeopleSoft Time & Labor system
  • Hours/Timesheet collection and input
  • Verification of Donor Recovery Vouchers
  • Interact with HR and Accounting to ensure completeness and accuracy of payroll data
  • Enter payroll data into PeopleSoft system, which will include new hire employee information, terminations, pay rates, garnishments, other deductions, direct deposits and tax information (W-4, Federal, State and Local taxes)
  • Review and resolve errors
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of regulations and company policies regarding payroll and pay practices
  • Reconcile wage tax issues with Ceridian Tax service and tax jurisdiction
  • Ensure correct deductions as they relate to benefit programs (401(k), welfare plan contributions, etc.)
  • Respond to external requests for employee information.
  • Perform follow up as necessary with employees or departmental managers for paperwork clarification, process notification and clerical coordination.
  • Support other human resource functional teams as it relates to PeopleSoft and payroll administration.
  • Obtain and maintain proficiency in human resource policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications for the Payroll Specialist include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 2 or 4 year college degree a plus.
  • 3 to 5 years of previous multi-state payroll experience is required, including NJ, PA, and CA
  • Time & Labor experience a plus.
  • PeopleSoft experience a plus.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Attention to detail and the willingness to put our internal customers (employees) first.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, 365, Teams, Word and Excel; basic familiarity with Access
