Red Pepper

Red Pepper Software was a manufacturing software company that People initially licensed key manufacturing software components from and then subsequently acquired.

On September 4, 1996, Peoplesoft Inc. agreed to acquire Red Pepper Software Inc., a maker of software for the oversight of manufacturing operations, for 2.975 million shares, or about $225 million.

The shares of PeopleSoft, a developer of client-server software for business, fell 50 cents, to $75.75, in Nasdaq trading. In June 1995, Peoplesoft entered a technology licensing and distribution agreement with Red Pepper, and earlier in 1996, PeopleSoft offered a new line of software that uses Red Pepper technology.
