Job Title IT Project Manager – PeopleSoft Release Job Description The candidate will own the Release Management life cycle for HR Technology products, which includes scheduling, coordinating, and the management of releases across the portfolio. This candidate will also provide organization leadership pertaining to Release Management ensuring adherence to release processes by developing and enhancing standards. The candidate will provide tools and services to help project and support teams deploy releases into production. The candidate will project manage RTB/BAU projects and technology projects like system upgrades. The Release Manager works collaboratively with all participants in the software development lifecycle. The Release Manager will also shepherd business requests for technology projects (demands) through the technology governance process, and assist project managers and teams with selecting the best framework, tools and deliverables to ensure success. This includes collaboration with members of the enterprise technology team to prepare for and finalize demand submissions, facilitate estimation, coordinate and facilitate technology governance meetings and follow up. Job Specific Responsibilities •Implement and manage release processes and tools to support the progression of code in the development, test, and production environments. •Work with cross functional teams to improve the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating software and environments. •Build and own the Release Calendar in working closely with the product owners from different portfolios and centralizing the view of all releases. •Project Manage RTB/BAU projects, and technology lead projects like PeopleSoft upgrades, PeopleSoft bundles •Guide new requests (demand) through the process of project prioritization, approval and initiation. •Strong negotiation and influencing capabilities, able to get things done without line of authority •Identify and engage process owners in regularly scheduled governance activities •Establish an effective meeting and communication cycle with stakeholders and IT team members •Chair Governance Steering Team meetings to support decision making and approvals •Coordinate High Level Estimates identifying the effort required from all necessary teams in order to engineer and implement the solution into production (coding, testing, security management, user certification, and implementation) •Provide release coordination and communication before, during, and after production deployment •Work closely with support team on issue resolution and coordinate production release •Provide support to internal/External auditors during audit process by providing necessary documentation and help close any open audit issues •Update Clarity with status reports, RAG status, milestones, issues etc. for the projects/programs owned by the resource •Run periodic reports in Clarity to check the allocations/actuals are tracking to the project budget •Chair weekly project status calls to get status, help prioritize the open work, and to set implementation dates for all active projects/issues •Oversee project migrations to all PeopleSoft environments •Own PeopleSoft environment health by working with appropriate internal teams on server patching and by scheduling environment refreshes etc. •Create and maintain up to date deliverables, working documents and online/tool based repositories •Develop and maintain strong professional working relationships with key Portfolio Management and Governance related stakeholders in IT and
Business Candidate Requirements Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, plus 8+ years progressive management experience, including management of major projects, in a large operating environment Proficient in Microsoft Office tools Proficient in Microsoft Project Proficient in Clarity Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills Proven success in delivering projects within budget and specified timeframes, while ensuring customer satisfaction Proven problem solving skills from problem assessment to solution selection Capacity to embrace change and quickly adapt to new situations, changes in direction, and altering priorities Proven ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment Ability to follow Software Development Life Cycle Ability to handle multiple assignments Experience using phases and gates within project management approaches. SharePoint experience preferred Excellent coordination and listening skills Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences Preferred Qualifications Experience managing Human resources and/or financial projects. PMP preferred
