Primary focus of this position is the management and maintenance of the Human Resource Management System (HRMS) in addition to other related systems. This individual serves as a technical point-of-contact for assigned functional areas and assists subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. The HRIS Analyst also manages HRMS upgrades, patches, testing and other technical projects as assigned.


Conduct/lead in the review, testing and implementation of HRMS system upgrades or patches. Collaborate with functional and technical staff to coordinate application of upgrade or fix. Maintain HRMS system tables.  Provide user & system security.  Ability to document processes and results.

Provide support for HRMS including, but not limited to, researching and resolving HRMS problems, unexpected results or process flaws; perform scheduled activities; recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.  Assist with self-service and other HR system questions.

Recommend process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy that must be approved by appropriate leadership prior to implementation.  Serve as the key liaison with third parties and other stakeholders (e.g. payroll, IT). Use project management skills in completing projects.  May provide overall project management leadership for a given HR initiative.  Proposes HRIS features and makes sure the software products fulfill company/user’s needs.

Write, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools.  Assist in development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs.  Maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data.

Develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation.  Train internal clients on new processes/functionality. Train new/existing system users.

Maintain awareness of current trends in HRMS with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies. Examine trends in information systems training, materials and techniques. Through classes, reading, CBTs or other mechanisms, continuously increase both HR knowledge and HRIS application/tools knowledge. Participate in user group meetings/conferences.


Generally works a 40-hour work week in an office environment.  Requires some travel between LWC locations and for training and job skills enhancement.  Occasionally required to provide off-hour support, including weekend coverage, and incident response.


Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science, Human Resources Management, or related field; and

Five (5) years of progressive Human Resources experience in HRIS systems combined with generalist functionalities, strong understanding and knowledge of HR administrative processes and procedures, terminology required; and

Three (3) years of functional knowledge and experience with HRIS systems, HRIS system implementations, and project management experience with PeopleSoft and Oracle based systems.


HRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) preferred.


Strong understanding of HR processes and data, including system workflow & position Management, benefit eligibility/enrollment procedures, recruiting, workforce administration, and regulatory compliance.

Solid understanding of relational databases, business processes, organizational policies, standard regulations/law to effectively resolve problems or issues.

Strong ability to define and document business and functional requirements, business process mapping, workflows, diagrams, and work instructions.

Strong understanding of HRMS database design, structure, functions and processes, and experience with databases tools.

Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills.

Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related initiatives.

Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
