Summary:
Does anyone have any
information on the J.D. Edwards XPI tool?
Answer
The JDE XPI (eXtended Process Integration) tool is based upon a combination of
webMethods/Active Enterprise integration and the Netfish (now IONA) XDI Suite
(now B2B Integrator). JDEdwards evaluated various vendors and selected
webMethods/Active for EAI functionality and Netfish (now IONA) for B2B
functionality.
JDE has added some things to it such as XBP (eXtended Business Processes) and
canonicals (data structures for invoices, POs, etc.) along with the JDE adaptor.
XBPs are packaged integrations for performing various JDE business functions
such as creating an Order in JDE. The XBPs make use of the canonicals. If you
want the XBPs, canonicals, and JDE adaptor you have to negotiate with JDE.
